We at Tieto are convinced that our long-term success as a company requires a business model that takes into account all aspects of corporate responsibility (CR) as a natural part of our daily business operation.
We support the leading global sustainability principles and comply with the requirements of many non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and industry standards. These multi-stakeholder initiatives guide us in our daily work.
- We have been a signatory of the UN Global Compact principles for environmental care, human rights, worker's rights and anticorruption since 2010.
- We comply with the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises.
- We are an organisational stakeholder of Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) since 2011 and want to play an active role in developing CR in society and to be a thought leader in our industry. Every year, we publish an externally assured CR Report based on GRI's framework for sustainability reporting.
- To reduce the environmental impact of our operations we are a participant in the WWF Green Office programme since 2009.
As a result of our sustainability performance, we are included in two sustainability indices, the Kempen SNS Smaller Europe Socially Responsible Investment (SRI) Index and the OMX GES Sustainability Finland Index, and have also been recognized externally. In October 2014, for the fourth consecutive year we were recognized by Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) for the transparency and quality of our climate change data, and included in the Climate Disclosure Leadership Index (CDLI) with 98 points out of 100.
In 2013, more than 250 people among our stakeholders took part in an online brainstorming, arranged by Tieto, and expressed their views on our sustainability impact. The outcome has provided input to our long-term CR plan as well as this report.
In 2014, for the fourth consecutive year we were recognized by CDP and included in their Climate Disclosure Leadership Index. This time with 98 points of 100.
